SWDP Review Extended until 23rd December 2022
The South Worcestershire Development Plan Review has been extended by 10 days, the new closing date for any comments is 23.59 hours on 23rd December 2022.

SWDP Plan Review Publication Consultation
Public consultation on the South Worcestershire Development Plan Review Publication Consultation (Regulation 19) was approved by each of the South Worcestershire Councils in October 2022. This draft version of the Local Plan is known as the Publication Plan.
The consultation begins on 1 November 2022 and closes at 23:59 on 13 December 2022
Regulation 19 consultation is specifically seeking view on the following:
- Legal Compliance – does the plan meet the legal requirements made under relevant legislation?
- Soundness – has the plan been positively prepared, justified, effective, and consistent with national policy?
How will this effect the Parish of Elmley Castle, Bricklehampton & Netherton?
Within the plan is 27 residential units proposed on land at Millend Racing Stables. This land has undergone detailed assessment before being proposed to be included in the Plan.
It is likely there will be mixed feelings on this proposed development and the Parish Council will be holding a Meeting to discuss their response to the Plan. This meeting will be a public meeting and there will be opportunity to for the Public to speak on the matter.
The meeting will be held at Elmley Castle Village Hall at 7.30pm on Wednesday 30th November 2022.

This is the last opportunity to make comments to the SWDP Review before the Plan is submitted for Examination. Any comments received at this stage of the consultation will be forwarded with the Plan to the Inspector.
Change to Bin Collection Times
Residents urged to put their bin out on time
The time waste and recycling bins are collected across Wychavon may change for some residents next week.
Changes are being made to all waste and recycling collection rounds across Wychavon to further improve efficiency and ensure the current high standard of service is maintained.
Only Chawson residents in Droitwich Spa will see a change to their collection day and residents have already been contacted about this.
Across the rest of the district, collection days will remain the same but the time bin crews arrive may change from what people are used to.
To make sure nobody misses their bin collection, residents are being urged from Monday (7 November) to make sure their bin is out by 7am on the day of their scheduled collection. Crews will collect anytime between 7am and 6pm.
Cllr Emma Stokes, Executive Board Member for Resident and Customer Services on Wychavon District Council, said: “We know some residents are used to collection crews arriving in their street at a certain time and so will delay putting their bin out until then. Because of the round changes, crews may arrive at a different time from next week.
“Please make sure your bin is out by 7am on your scheduled collection day. If you don’t do this then unfortunately we cannot come back to collect your bin until the next scheduled collection.
“I thank residents for their patience while we make these necessary round changes to futher improve the high quality service we already offer.”

Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
The Parish Council working with Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Worcestershire County Council secured funding for the placement of a Boundary Stone which is now sited on Netherton Lane at the Elmley Castle Village entrance.
Being a part of the AONB National Landscapes adds to the value of the Parish providing extra environmental protection. This National Status highlights the area as being ‘special’ giving awareness to those that visit or travel through to hopefully keep it that way.

Road Closure
The Parish Council has been notified that the Elmley Castle to Little Comberton Road will be closed for approximately 3 days, commencing 26th October 2022.
The purpose of the road closure is to enable the pavement to be resurfaced.
Further details are attached with a diversion plan.
Castle Day – Elmley Castle
Due to the National Days of Mourning following the death of Her Majesty the Queen the date of the Castle Day has been moved from Sunday 18th September to a new date of Sunday 25th September.
Please also note the time has also been changed to 11.30am – 2.30pm.
