Defib Training August and September 2024

The Parish has 2 defibrillators sited on Main Street, Elmley Castle and at Court Farm in Bricklehampton.  These are for everyone’s use in a medical emergency.  We have now arranged for an evening workshop to familiarise yourself with how to access the equipment, its usage along with some valuable skills in dealing with a cardiac emergency.

The training will be supported by two volunteer from South Worcestershire Lifesaving and Lifeguards Club (SWLLC) and is being held at

Elmley Castle Village Hall on:

MONDAY 19TH AUGUST AT 19.00.

MONDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER AT 1900.

Participants can attend for free but would be encouraged, if they wish, to make a small donation to SWLLC who provide important lifesaving support at local events.

Telegraph Poles

There have been a number of residents upset by the sudden appearance of Telegraph poles installed by Airband.

The Parish Council have not had prior notice of the installation of the poles as it is not a legal obligation to notify us.

If you would like to complain about the poles the best course of action is to follow the steps below:

  1. Write to your local MP. For the case of Elmley Castle this is Harriet Baldwin MP. However if you are unsure who your local MP is then you can find out here. Find your MP – MPs and Lords – UK Parliament
  2. You may wish to sign a petition that has been set up locally. Petition · Oppose the installation of all overground communications poles as a cheap alternative.. · Change.org This petition is not affiliated to the Parish Council.
  3. Complain directly to Airband. Contact us | Airband

The Parish Council will support residents where they can and this issue will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting.

Cllr Malcolm Meikle

It is with sadness to report the passing of one of our Councillors, Councillor Malcolm Meikle. Councillor Meikle was 93 and had a wealth of experience in local Council. Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Elmley Castle Defibrillator

We are pleased to report that the Defibrillator in the old phone box on Main Street, Elmley Castle is now back operational.

Elmley Castle Defibrillator

The Defibrillator in the old telephone box on Main Street, Elmley Castle has had to be temporarily removed due to a delay in the supply of replacement pads and battery.

The Parish Council very much hope that this will be rectified within the next few weeks but we are in the hands of the suppliers of the replacement parts.

The next nearest working Defib is in Bricklehampton close to the entrance with Court Farm (just after the Church).

We will post again when the Elmley kit is back in service.
